Help Us Support Young Athletes in Honduras! ⚽👟

My name is Nahun Romero and I'm the founder of 5 Star Soccer Academy. I’m originally from Pinalejo Santa Bárbara, Honduras. In my hometown, many children dream of playing soccer, but with limited access to basic gear, it's difficult for them to pursue that passion safely or confidently. This summer, I want to help turn that dream into a reality. I’ll be returning to Honduras to host a series of soccer events for kids in underserved communities. To make this effort as impactful as possible, we’re launching a Shoe & Jersey Fundraiser, and we would love your support!

 

Donate Gently Used Sneakers or Soccer Shoes (Deadline 6/28/25)
We are looking for shoes for children ages ~7 to 14 years old. If you or your child have a gently used pair of sneakers, soccer cleats, or turf shoes you no longer need, please consider donating them. These shoes can give another child the opportunity to play the game they love, safely.


Drop-Off / Pick-Up Details

  • Drop-off: At practice or our home near Astoria Park (email us to coordinate) 

    • Murray park: Thursday, 6/26 from 5:30 to 8 pm

      • 11-01 45th Rd, Long Island City, NY 1110

    • Astoria Park: Friday, 6/27 from 8:30 am to 3 pm 

      • 19th St, Astoria, NY 11102, USA

  • Pick-up: We’re happy to arrange a pickup in Astoria (email us to coordinate)

 

Sponsor a Jersey or Make a Small Donation (Deadline 7/31/25)

  • $35 sponsors a soccer jersey for one child

  • Any amount (even $1!) helps us purchase water and snacks for the kids during the events

 Donation receipts are available upon request.

At 5 Star Soccer Academy, it is our mission to provide the highest level of soccer training to our community, regardless of financial resources.

 

Sponsorships are an important component to our success as they provide us with a greater opportunity to expand the program. Your dollars will:

• Pay the professional training fees for the coaches.

• Help us reach more kids and gain the ability to provide scholarships for children whose families need assistance.
